I don’t remember a book ever bringing me to unstoppable tears like “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio.

wonderSo I was driving down the road the other day and heard a review on the radio about a book called “Wonder” (listen to the review here). I made note of the title and after completing the book I was reading at the time I downloaded a sample of “Wonder” from the Amazon book store. I enjoyed the sample so I bought the book and started reading.

Today I finished the book. I was reading while standing next to my son’s bed as he was falling asleep for a nap. The next thing I know I was balling my eyes out. Like a little boy…and I am thankful for that moment. I needed it. Thank you R.J. Palacio for making Auggie such an “ordinary” little fellow in an extraordinary little body. My family’s story is very different from Auggie’s family, yet so very similar. Your book has helped me address emotions that I had not yet been able to process until now.

To anyone reading my little blog post here… There are too many things to touch upon concerning this book. All I can say is, “read it!”
