Where Did You Come From?

Posted on May 7th, 2015

Where did you come from? I don’t know what to do but I am holding on.
Right now in this place I think my heart has found a home
Yes I am scared, I don’t know what to do but I am holding on

I was walking down the aisle, there you were
You said my name, turned around, smiled, laughed, nervous sounds
We said goodbye, walked away, accidental surprise today

Another week, another aisle, many miles down the road
heard your voice, laughed at chance, we touched upon our circumstance
Said goodbye once again, cracking walls, breathe out then in

I’ve been through the desert, I’ve been through hell
Walked down low roads, fallen and failed.
You’ve been through the fire, You’ve been destroyed
Buried mountains, used as a toy.
That’s not where it’s going, not where this is going…

Among the books I turned and saw you there
Walking by head held high, I pulled my heart out of sight
Holding it down hidden away, unsure how to write upon this new page.

Another post, broken words float, a few short feet down this road
I bowed my head but raised my eyes truthfulness in place of lies
Time spoke 40 turned the key our garden gates opening.
Fragile trust blossoming, protecting love encompassing.

Where did you come from? I don’t know what to do but I’m holding on
Where did you come from? I think my heart has found a home
