Toasting top shelf realities

Toasting top shelf realities
With the same choices to choose.
We can schmooze with dark, seedy thoughts,
Believing all is lost, focused on others’ thoughts,
Or we can knock the dust from our feet
Chew on some meat, spit out the bones,
And walk on toward our own beautiful horizon
Spreading out long, wide and wisened before us
Calling forth forests of tall, time-tested trees
Rooted deep into these top shelf realities.
Ripe with rebirth.
