Sip After Sip

Posted on January 5th, 2017

Reaching forward through years gone by
A familiar hand moves me to find the child
Who once smiled at sunshine hidden behind storms.
A welcoming touch wipes away the tears of broken things.
Crossing back over forests we find us again.
Late night broken languages melt into happy memories
Where books were gifted and hearts were lifted.
I once carried a torch across broken terrain but
Now we welcome rain walking through hot days.
Crossing funky rivers, the two of us laugh and play.
Car horns honk, streets are crossed, time together is never lost.
We ride where green goes over the mountain and beyond Barva.
Peppermint tea caresses my lips while warming our insides.
Sip after sip we melt into making new happy memories.
